The Vital Role of Small Business in Central Iowa

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our community here in Central Iowa. They bring innovation, create jobs, and drive local economies. In Des Moines and Central Iowa, small businesses are not just commercial entities; they are our neighbors, friends, and family members. They contribute significantly to the vibrant and diverse economic landscape that makes Central Iowa a great place to live and work.

Small businesses in Iowa employee 46% of Iowa employees.  They not only provide jobs, but also purchase goods and services from other small businesses.  Small businesses in Des Moines and Iowa are usually the first to step-up to make donations and support our local non-profits.  Also, for every $100 spent at a local business, an average of $68 stay in your community, compared with $43 out of every $100 from non-local businesses.

To support and empower our local entrepreneurs, we are excited to announce a free small business workshop, Build A Better Business, on June 21, right here in West Des Moines at the Westfield Building, 1080 Jordan Creek Parkway (home to R & R Realty).
