City of West Des Moines Community Cares - Donations accepted through February 28, 2025
Strong communities start with people who care. Fidelity Bank Iowa is a current sponsor of the City of West Des Moines Community Cares program to support local initiatives, from food drives and volunteer programs to emergency assistance efforts that provide aid to residents in need.
During the month of February, the City of West Des Moines is hosting the Race to 72,000, a community-wide food drive with a goal of collecting 72,000 food items to support local families in need. As a pillar of this community, our bank is proud to participate, and we would love to have customers and community join us!
Here’s how you can help:
- Bring food donations to our West Des Moines bank or mortgage office at
177 S. Jordan Creek Parkway and place inside the box in each lobby by February 28.
Most needed items:
Baby Food (purees) and Baby Formula
Dry and Canned Beans
Canned Vegetables, Fruit and Meat
Peanut Butter
Pasta and Pasta Sauce
Whole-grain Cereal
Non-meat proteins: tofu, nuts
Baking Supplies
Rice
- Encourage friends and family to contribute.
- Make an online donation as follows: (Be sure to put Fidelity Bank in the “Notes & Comments” section so that our Fidelity Bank Community gets credited for the donation!)

- Under Gift Designation please use the drop-down menu to select “Food Pantry”
- Under Additional notes or comments, enter “Fidelity Bank” so that we can track your donations towards our team.
- Complete payment by entering bank account information or a credit card number and clicking the submit donation button.
At the end of the month, top contributors will be recognized by the Mayor, City Council, and City of West Des Moines leadership team. And while this recognition will go a long way to increase awareness of our local bank in West Des Moines, the real reward is knowing we are making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Junior Achievement of Central Iowa
We’re dedicated to shaping the next generation of leaders. Our Fidelity Bank Iowa team partners with Junior Achievement of Central Iowa to provide financial literacy education, mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences that empower young minds to succeed in school and beyond. In 2025, we were one of the many sponsors of the JA Stock Market Challenge.
Al Exito
Al Éxito inspires, prepares, supports, and positions Latinx leaders, middle school through college, for postsecondary attainment, career readiness, and civic engagement. Fidelity Bank Iowa is proud to have been a sponsor of their largest fundraising event of the year.
AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport
We proudly support AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport in their mission to saving homeless animals and providing them comfort through many services made possible by their staff and team of volunteers. Our sponsorship helped AHeinz57 purchase a needed surgical table to perform spay and neuter services. Fidelity Bank Iowa Team Members provide “comfort care” services in the Fidelity Snuggle Room after procedures. We also support additional fundraising events through in-kind donations.
The Pet Project Midwest
No pet should go hungry. That’s why we work with The Pet Project Midwest to support their Pet Pantry program, ensuring pet owners in need have access to food and supplies. They also support a state-wide network helping to reunite lost and found pets in Iowa. Fidelity Bank Iowa has conducted pet food drives, provided volunteers and in-kind services.
